My name is Lisa Leffler. You will probably learn more about me by reading these posts than people who have known my for years know about me. Perhaps because I love a good paradox I am not the best communicator but I love to write.
A few things that may be helpful to know about me…
- My Christian identity is a core part of who I am. I was raised in a Christian family so that is how I came to know God. Some of my writings will clearly be from a Christian perspective (i.e. Rewritten Psalms) and in others will speak of the divine and spiritual connections in broad terms. I believe that there are many different paths to knowing (insert your word for the divine here). If you are confident in your faith journey, searching for a faith life, or anywhere in between, I hope that you will find universal truths in my writing.
- I live with anxiety. It has been a part of me my whole life but I was an adult before I found the language to express what I was experiencing. My mental health journey will surface in my writing because it is a part of who I am. I am grateful to be living in a time when we are beginning to be able to talk about mental health more openly and for friends, family and doctors who are there to provide me support when I need it.
- I am a millennial. I was born in the late ‘80s. I don’t think this is a good or bad thing but of course the era I grew up in will impact how I view the world and now you don’t have to guess.
- Sometimes my brain moves faster than my hands and I am a terrible proof reader. There will be typos and missed words in some of my posts, despite my best efforts, but if your are willing to overlook my mistakes and less than perfect grammar I hope to be able to provide you with some things to reflect on.
